In the lab, we are the ones who have to do more than just measure, collect, and maintain information. We have to be the ones who make sure that the information is accurate and that it is being communicated in the right way.
You have to be both the “boss” and the “employee” in the lab. You have to be the ones with the authority to make sure that the information is being presented in the right way and that it is being recorded properly so that the information can be analyzed and used for the best possible outcome.
I am the manager of a lab, but I am also a lab-user, I am the one who collects information, and I am the one who measures and records it. I have no idea what the lab-manager salary is set by, but considering the current salary of mine is $12 a month, it feels like we’re setting the bar ridiculously high.
I’m not sure if there is a single thing that is more ridiculous than a lab-manager salary, but I guess that’s just me.
