10 Wrong Answers to Common heb near me hours Questions: Do You Know the Right Ones?
I have to admit, I have a really bad habit of checking Facebook late at night. Even though it is a habit I have to break, it is a habit I still make little to no effort to break. The other night, I thought I should write a post on how people shouldn’t be so late to bed and start their day. It wasn’t until I had started it that I realized how late I am.
Facebook is one of the best social networks if you want to stay in touch with friends and family. It is also one of the worst if things are not going your way. I like to be able to see a friend or family member’s posts on Facebook at just the right time. After reading a comment on someone’s post, I often wait before responding. I then check the clock and wait for it to go to 00:00:00, then reply.
This is very similar to the “be so late to bed” phenomenon. I have had this happen because I’m always late to bed and never check my clock before responding to a comment. I often check Facebook at 00:00 hours, 12:00 hours, 16:00 hours, and so on. The problem is that when I’m on Facebook at specific times of the day, I miss out on so much social time.
When we were kids, we didn’t have clocks, but we did have an alarm clock. It was an electric clock, and we would go to bed at a certain time instead of waiting until the clock said so. This was helpful for us when we were little because it meant we knew when bedtime was. If we were late to bed that meant we were not sleepy and would have to wake up early the next day.
These days, we have clocks at our disposal that help us make sense of a world that is so chaotic that we sometimes cannot even fathom the day. I guess if all you hear is “00:00” you’ll be more familiar with how time works than if you hear “1:00” and see it differently. As a result we have a lot more time than we used to.
The problem is that our attention spans are getting shorter and shorter, to the point where we’ve had enough of this world of ours to last about a nanosecond. It’s not that the world is getting worse or that we are losing our ability to focus. It’s that our attention spans have shrunk to a point that we can’t stay awake for more than a few seconds at a time.
Time is an illusion; the amount of time we have available to us is a false measure, one that we don’t really have enough of to really use it. It is the ability to be alert without getting out of bed and checking your watch.
